Yifeng Tan
谈一峰
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text 0=””]Born in Nanjing, China, 1960
Lives and works in Melbourne, Australia
The world depicted by Yifeng Tan is characterized by the ambiguity of teasing people. His paintings lead to direct attraction and a “disturbance” associated with it, that is, a hint of potential danger, and a feeling of unpleasant relationship, mixed with a string of unanswered The problem.
The world depicted by Yi Feng Tan is a world of overseas Chinese living in Australia. This further helped the painter to use the vague language skillfully and appropriately to show the position of the individual in a multicultural world (although the explicit language is not the result of the artist’s desire).
The art of Yifeng Tan reflects his understanding of an environment that made him feel unfamiliar and uneasy at first. Through a very personal drawing language, he creates a questioning narrative, asking questions, and assuming situations (real and imaginary). Although these creations are derived from his personal experience, they have resonated with us. His interesting and characteristic paintings tell the artist himself and all of us.
